The advantages of using the surface repair
The usage of the repair
The instruction to use the surface repair:
  • The desired surface must be scratched to 2 to 3 cm with a suitable tool. Then the surface should be cleaned by water pressure from any contaminations and dust. The scratch must develop negative grooves on the surface to involve the repair mortar.
  • The clean prepared surface must be bedded by the CapcoBond products such as PVA or AR depending on the type of work. It is better to use CapcoBond AR if the surface is wet. To prepare the surface, it is necessary to dilute CapcoBond with a ratio of 1 to 5 with water and rub it on the surface with a brush. Then let the surface dry for 1 to 3 hours.
  • 5 liters of water is poured into the mixer per 25 kg packet of SoftCoat, and the powder is added to the water at a suitable rate. The mixing should continue so that a uniform mortar is obtained. The added water can be increased to 4.5 liters to adjust the workability of the mortar. It should be noted that the final strength reduces by increasing the water.
  • Then another layer of the product must be implemented and let make a cohesive form. Meanwhile, the prepared mortar is rubbed or poured on the cohesive surface. Then the surface should be smoothed by troweling.
  • For repairs with more than 3 cm depth, an amount of sand proportionate to the concrete surface being repaired must be mixed with the product. The size of the sands is 3 to 10 mm depending on the repair surface. Also, the used sand must be washed and cleaned. It is necessary to use CapcoBond AR for bedding.

Curing: The surface will reach full setting about 3 to 4 hours after troweling. It is necessary to use the wet curing method for the repaired surface for at least 72 hours.
