Concrete Hyperplasticizers-Capcocrete SPCA 251

Capcocrete SPCA 251 is a high-range water reducer, hyperplasticizer, and rapid-setting agent used to significantly enhance the flowability of concrete/mortar without altering the water-to-cement ratio. It can also be employed to reduce the water-to-cement ratio without compromising flowability. This additive also decreases setting time and increases the one-day compressive strength of hardened concrete.

This product is manufactured in accordance with the general requirements of the Iranian National Standard No. 2930-1 and the performance specifications outlined in Tables 6, 1-3, and 2-3 of the Iranian National Standard No. 2930-2. Additionally, this additive complies with the requirements of categories C and F in ASTM C494 standard, Table 1 of EN 934-1 standard, and Tables 6, 1-3, and 2-3 of EN 934-2 standard.

The use of concrete Hyperplasticizers:
Range and Method of Using Additives in Concrete:

Permissible Range for Using Additives in Concrete:

The permissible range for the use of CapcoCrete SPCA251 is from 0.2% to 0.8% by weight of cementitious materials (200 to 800 grams per one hundred kilograms of cementitious materials, including cement, silica fume, slag, fly ash, and other similar pozzolans). The optimal dosage of the additive should be determined based on the mix design specifications, operational conditions, and environmental factors. Testing should be conducted with trial mixes. Exceeding the specified limit may result in consequences such as segregation, bleeding, and rapid reduction in setting time, especially for concrete containing fast-setting cements.

How to Mix Concrete Hyperplasticizers:

To use the additive, it is necessary to dilute it with water at twice the volume of the additive, and then add it to the concrete. Additionally, the following points should be considered:

  • After adding the additive, the concrete should be thoroughly mixed for 2 to 5 minutes to ensure complete blending, and uniform distribution of the additive in the concrete.
  • This additive should not come into direct contact with dry cement or dry aggregate materials.
  • The volume of water used to dilute the additive (before adding it to the concrete) should be subtracted from the total mixing water in the concrete.
  • If there is a desire to significantly increase the slump of fresh concrete, it is necessary for the concrete mix design to be prepared in such a way that the concrete does not experience segregation and water bleeding.
