Concrete Hyperplasticizers – CapcoCrete SPCR10

SPCR10 is a high-range water reducer, very effective water reducer, and retarder that is used to increase the flowability of concrete/mortar without changing the water-to-cement ratio or to decrease the water-to-cement ratio without reducing flowability. Additionally, this additive prolongs the setting time and working time of the concrete.

This product is produced according to the general requirements of the Iranian National Standard No. 2930-1 and the performance requirements outlined in Tables 1-11 and 2-11 of the Iranian National Standard No. 2930-2. Additionally, this additive complies with Grade G requirements of ASTM C494 standard and Table 1 of EN 934-1 standard, as well as Tables 1-11 and 2-11 of EN 934-2 standard.

Range and Method of Using Additives in Concrete:

Permissible Range for Using Additives in Concrete:

The permissible range for using SPCR10 hyperplasticizer is from 0.25 to 1.2 percent by weight of cementitious materials (250 to 1200 grams per hundred kilograms of cementitious materials including cement, silica fume, slag, fly ash, and other similar pozzolans). The optimal dosage of the additive should be determined based on the mix design specifications, operational conditions, and environmental factors. Exceeding the specified limit may result in consequences such as segregation, water bleeding, and sudden increase in concrete setting time, especially for concrete containing retarding agents.

How to Mix Concrete hyperplasticizers:

To use the additive, it is necessary to dilute it with water at twice the volume of the additive, and then add it to the concrete. Additionally, the following points should be considered:

  • After adding the additive, the concrete should be thoroughly mixed for 2 to 5 minutes to ensure complete blending, and uniform distribution of the additive in the concrete.
  • This additive should not come into direct contact with dry cement or dry aggregate materials.
  • The volume of water used to dilute the additive (before adding it to the concrete) should be subtracted from the total mixing water in the concrete.
  • If there is a desire to significantly increase the slump of fresh concrete, it is necessary for the concrete mix design to be prepared in such a way that the concrete does not experience segregation and water bleeding.
