Concrete Hyperplasticizers – CapcoCrete SRC4060

SRC4060 is a hyperplasticizer designed for concrete, specifically formulated to maintain high flowability for up to 60 minutes. Its unique feature lies in its exceptional ability to preserve the concrete’s flowability over an extended period. This product achieves this by incorporating a poly-carboxylate resin-based chemical structure, making it devoid of any retardants. Moreover, concrete produced with this super plasticizer does not compromise its initial strengths.

SRC4060 complies with the general requirements of the national standard of Iran (No.2930-1) and the performance specifications outlined in Tables 1-3 and 2-3 of the national standard No. 2930-2. Additionally, this additive aligns with the F category requirements of ASTM C494 standard and Table 1 of EN 934-1 standard, as well as the specifications of Tables 1-3 and 2-3 in the EN 934-2 standard.

Range and Method of Using Additives in Concrete:

Permissible Range for Using Additives in Concrete:

The permissible range of using Capcocrete SRC4060 is from 0.5 to 1.5 percent by weight of cementitious materials (500 to 1500 grams per hundred kilograms of cementitious materials, including cement, silica fume, slag, fly ash, and other similar pozzolans). The optimal dosage of the additive should be determined based on the mix design specifications and the execution conditions, taking into account environmental factors. Ultimately, trial mixes should be prepared. Exceeding the declared permissible limit may result in consequences such as segregation and water bleeding in concrete. It is worth mentioning that reducing the dosage may lead to decreased workability retention of concrete over an extended period.

How to Mix Concrete Hyperplasticizers:

To use the additive, it is necessary to dilute it with water at twice the volume of the additive, and then add it to the concrete. Additionally, the following points should be considered:

  • After adding the additive, the concrete should be thoroughly mixed for 2 to 5 minutes to ensure complete blending, and uniform distribution of the additive in the concrete.
  • This additive should not come into direct contact with dry cement or dry aggregate materials.
  • The volume of water used to dilute the additive (before adding it to the concrete) should be subtracted from the total mixing water in the concrete.
  • If there is a desire to significantly increase the slump of fresh concrete, it is necessary for the concrete mix design to be prepared in such a way that the concrete does not experience segregation and water bleeding.
