Concrete Hyperplasticizers – CapcoCrete SRC5060

SRC5060 is a concrete hyperplasticizer designed to maintain excellent flowability for up to 60 minutes. Its unique feature lies in its ability to preserve slump without the use of any retarder. This product achieves its exceptional properties due to the chemical structure of poly-carboxylate resin utilized in its formulation. Notably, it does not compromise the initial strengths of the concrete it is used in.

SRC5060 is manufactured in compliance with the general requirements of the Iranian National Standard No. 2930-1 and the performance specifications outlined in tables 1-3 and 2-3 of the Iranian National Standard No.2930-2. Furthermore, this additive conforms to the requirements of Grade F in ASTM C494 standard and table 1 of EN 934-1 standard, as well as the specifications in tables 1-3 and 2-3 of EN 934-2 standard.

The use of concrete Hyperplasticizers:
Range and Method of Using Additives in Concrete:

Permissible Range for Using Additives in Concrete:

The permissible range for using SRC5060 is between 0.4% to 1.5% by weight of cementitious materials (400 to 1500 grams per one hundred kilograms of cementitious materials, including cement, silica fume, slag, fly ash, and other similar pozzolans). Determining the optimal dosage of the additive should be done considering the mix design specifications, operational conditions, and climate, followed by the creation of experimental mixtures. Exceeding the declared permissible limit might result in consequences such as segregation and water bleeding in the concrete. It is essential to note that reducing the dosage can lead to a decrease in the concrete’s ability to maintain fluidity over an extended period.

How to Mix Concrete Hyperplasticizers:

To use the additive, it is necessary to dilute it with water at twice the volume of the additive, and then add it to the concrete. Additionally, the following points should be considered:

  • After adding the additive, the concrete should be thoroughly mixed for 2 to 5 minutes to ensure complete blending, and uniform distribution of the additive in the concrete.
  • This additive should not come into direct contact with dry cement or dry aggregate materials.
  • The volume of water used to dilute the additive (before adding it to the concrete) should be subtracted from the total mixing water in the concrete.
  • If there is a desire to significantly increase the slump of fresh concrete, it is necessary for the concrete mix design to be prepared in such a way that the concrete does not experience segregation and water bleeding.
