Pozzolanic Products-Silicamorf®90

Supplementary Cementitious Materials / Silica Fume Powder (Silicamorf 90)

Silicamorf 90 is a very fine powder containing over 85% amorphous silica dioxide (SiO2). This product reacts with calcium hydroxide resulting from hydration, due to its strong pozzolanic properties. The secondary products formed from this pozzolanic reaction reduce the permeability of concrete and enhance its mechanical strength and abrasion resistance.

This product complies with the requirements of the Iranian National Standard No. 13278, as well as the specifications outlined in ASTM C1240 and EN 13263-1 standards.

Range and Method of Using Silicamorf 90 in Concrete:

Permissible Range for Using Silicamorf 90 in Concrete:

The permissible range of using Silicamorf 90 is from 5 to 10% by weight of cement (5 to 10 kilograms per hundred kilograms of cement). The optimal amount of this additive should be determined based on the mixture design specifications, execution conditions, environmental factors, and ultimately by producing experimental mixes. In the presence of reactive silica aggregates in the concrete, the minimum consumption quantity of the product in the laboratory needs to be determined.

How to Mix Silicamorf 90 with concrete:

Silicamorf 90 should be added at the concrete production site (batching) and during the mixing of concrete components. Additionally, the following points need to be observed:

  • After adding this product, the concrete should be thoroughly mixed for 2 to 5 minutes to ensure the uniform distribution of this material in the concrete.
  • Silica fume powder should not be added to the ready-mixed concrete truck.
  • It is recommended that Silicamorf 90 be mixed well with water and the microsilica dispersing agent Zetanul SF by Capco Company before adding it to the concrete. This ensures a uniform mixture and maximizes the product’s effectiveness in the concrete.
