Bituminous Mastic / Cold-Applied (CapFlex C)

CapFlex C is an elastic sealant based on bituminous material and special polymers that are dried in their natural form and makes an elastic form. This sealant will have high strength against weather conditions. This material is used to fill the joints controlling the cracks and expansion joints. This product is usable in vertical and horizontal joints.

This product is produced based on the general requirements of the ASTM D1850 Standard.

The advantages of using the bituminous mastic:

The usage of the bituminous mastic:
  • • Sealing the vertical and horizontal joints in cold and hot regions
  • • Sealing of the water distribution canals and pipes
  • • Sealing of the bridges, ceilings, and asphalts
  • • Sealing of the joints between buildings and rooftops
The instructions to use the bituminous mastic:
  1. Preparing the surface: all surfaces should be clean, dry, and without any loose and cohesive particles. The wire brush and then the air pressure can be used to clean the surface. Then, the surface of the joints is coated with well-diluted BituCoat bituminous primer EM12 and is allowed to dry.
  2. Implementation: the narrow joints (up to 5 mm thickness) are filled with a gun suitable for joints. The bridging property and air bubbles should prevent the bonding of the mastic inside the joint. Then the surface should be smoothed with a suitable spatula. Suitable tools are used to fill the joints with pressure in wider joints. If the joint is deep, the polyethylene fillers can first fill the depth to a suitable thickness and then the mastic should seal it.

Physical and Chemical Specifications of the bituminous mastic:
  • • Blink in water for at least 15 minutes in case of eye contact
  • • Wash your skin with clean water for 15 minutes in case of any contact with the skin
  • • The contaminated clothes must be washed with suitable detergents to be usable for further work.
  • • It is necessary to visit a doctor if the injured individual still feels uncomfortable
