Bituminous Mastic / Hot-Applied (CapFlex H)

CapFlex H is an elastic sealant based on bituminous material that is heated to fluid form and used. This material is used to fill the construction and expansion horizontal joints.

This product is produced based on the general requirements of the ASTM D1190 Standard and type 1 of the ASTM D6690 Standard.

The advantages of using the CapFlex H:
  • • Perfect bonding with the concrete surface, cement, steel, and wood.
  • • The service temperature is between -5 to 70˚C

The usage of the bituminous mastic:
  • • Filling the horizontal expansion and construction joints
  • • Sealing the water distribution canals and pipes
  • • Sealing the bridges, ceilings, and asphalts
  • • Filling the joints between buildings and rooftops
The instructions to use the product:
  1. Preparing the surface: all surfaces should be clean, dry, and without any loose and cohesive particles. The wire brush and then the air pressure can be used to clean the surface.
  2. Heat the mastic to 160˚C using indirect heat, and implement it after reaching fluid form by using pouring, injection, etc. methods.

  • Specific Weight: 1/20 ± 0/05 g/cm3
Safety Precautions When Using the CapFlex H:
  • • Immediately take the individual to a health center in case of any contact with molten material with the eyes.
  • • Wash your skin with water and soap for 15 minutes in case of any contact with the skin. If the molten material is poured on the skin, cool the surface with cold water and refer to a health center to clean the part. Avoid using petroleum products to clean the injured surface.
  • • The contaminated clothes must be washed with suitable detergents to be usable for further work.
