Concrete Hyperplasticizers – Capcocrete SPC10

CapcoCrete SPC10 is a hyperplasticizers which is used to increase the flowability of concrete/mortar without altering the water-to-cement ratio or to reduce the water-to-cement ratio without compromising flowability.

This product is manufactured in accordance with the general requirements of the national standard of Iran, number 2930-1, and the performance requirements specified in tables 1-3 and 2-3 of the national standard of Iran, number 2930-2. Additionally, this additive complies with the requirements of Grade F in ASTM C494 standard and Table 1 of EN 934-1 standard, as well as the requirements of tables 1-3 and 2-3 in EN 934-2 standard.

The use of concrete hyperplasticizers:
Range and Method of Using Additives in Concrete:

Permissible Range for Using Additives in Concrete:

The permissible range for the use of SPC10 superplasticizer is from 0.25 to 0.8 percent by weight of cementitious materials (250 to 800 grams per hundred kilograms of cementitious materials, including cement, silica fume, slag, fly ash, and other similar pozzolans). The optimal dosage of the additive should be determined based on the mix design specifications and the environmental and execution conditions. Exceeding the declared limit might result in consequences such as segregation and water bleeding in concrete.

How to Mix Concrete hyperplasticizers:

To use the additive, it is necessary to dilute it with water in double the volume of the additive. Then, add it to the concrete when it has reached a low initial slump. Additionally, the following points should be observed:

  • After adding the additive, the concrete should be thoroughly mixed for 2 to 5 minutes to ensure complete blending, and uniform distribution of the additive in the concrete.
  • This additive should not come into direct contact with dry cement or dry aggregate materials.
  • The volume of water used to dilute the additive (before adding it to the concrete) should be subtracted from the total mixing water in the concrete.
  • If there is a desire to significantly increase the slump of fresh concrete, it is necessary for the concrete mix design to be prepared in such a way that the concrete does not experience segregation and water bleeding.
